The Crossrock boot will withstand all of a kid’s adventures. You can take them with you on your hikes with confidence.
Our hiking designers developed these boots for running, climbing, jumping, and playing in the mountains and on all terrains on sunny days
Sole grip
The grip of our soles is certified.
To be awarded certification, the boots must pass laboratory tests to assess the grip rate on different surfaces (Smooth, Rugged, Dry, Wet).
To approve these tests, we then have the quality of our soles evaluated in the field, in the mountains, by a panel of kid testers.
Waterproofing test
Tested both in the lab and real-world usage, this footwear guarantees optimum waterproofing and breathability. To start, they are immersed in water with pressurized air inside to check that no bubbles form on the surface of the boot. Next, the boots are fitted to a mechanical arm that simulates walking, half immersed in water so we can test that the inside remains perfectly dry.
For this model, the test lasted the equivalent of 5 miles in the conditions listed above.
Making waterproofing last longer
A boot’s waterproofing is often undermined by water getting in from the top of the boot. So to keep your feet dry for longer, it’s advisable to use a waterproof gaiter or mini-gaiter that will prevent water as well as pebbles, sand, etc. from getting inside through the top. It is advisable to use a waterproof spray several times a year. This restores the original water-repellent properties and prevents staining.
Buying tips
Allow kids to try on both boots, standing up, with the socks worn for hiking. Try on several styles and sizes if necessary. Check 2 comfort points: the base of the heel and the front part of the foot going down. Avoid all pressure points when trying them on. Don’t hesitate to allow then to walk around the store. Gradually start using your boots during your 1st few hiking trips to break them in.
Which size should you select?
For hiking, do not hesitate to buy 1 size larger than the usual size to guarantee excellent comfort on the descent and to avoid toes rubbing at the tip of the boot. Tip: Keep your toenails short, and before going downhill at any time, check that your laces are tight enough to stop your feet slipping down toward the front of the boots.
REMOVABLE INSOLE
Removable insole for faster drying. It can also be replaced by an orthopedic insole.
